Fernando Apodaca and Marcus Gutierrez document a week in the life of a storm chaser and capture rare 3D footage of severe thunderstorms and tornados in the midwest while making Sean Casey’s IMAX film “Tornado Alley” during the 2011 season.
Type3Films was hired by Panasonic Hollywood Labs and Original Media (for Discovery Channel’s Stormchasers show) to train and prepare the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) team of Sean Casey (TIV Captain / Imax Filmmaker), Marcus Gutierrez (TIV Driver / Camera Operator / Medic) and Brandon Ivey (TIV Meteorologist / Navigator) to capture 3D severe storm test footage.
