In 2005, Fernando’s short film Majini won awards for Best Experimental at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. It was created when Fernando was invited by friend and photographer, David Gulden, to work as an artist in residence at photographer Peter Beard‘s Hog Ranch in Kenya. The film and related artworks, constructed from bronze, glass, leather and hair, were premiered in a solo exhibition at Phillips de Pury & Company, New York.
